action movies? Do you like comedy or horror movies?
What's your favorite type of movie?
I prefer romatic movies. But actually I used to like action flicks. It's dynamic, interesting and fantastic. The most important thing is it shows or stimulates men's instinct. That's why I think many men love it. But in my generation, as far as I know they don't like it much because we see not only scenes, but also stories and composition. Action movies just focus on actions not a story. So I find it kinda boring. On the other hand, love stories are impressive and dramatic. Sometimes love stories are also kinda corny and predictable but nowadays we are lack of impression, on the contrary we are full of violance as you see from news. So they want to find sth impressive and hopeful. I do as well. and I had never watched horror movies up until 2 years ago, but I suddenly watched the horror movie named "Saw" and I started to love it because it has thrills and dramatic reversals ( = plot twist ) of the story. Anyway the bottom line is that I love horror and love movies.
Q2. Describe one of your favorite restaurents where you often
go to eat at. What type of food do they serve there?
What do you like about that restaurant?
My favorite restaurant is 보쌈 restaurant, which serves steamed pork, kimchi, lettuce, and so on. The main food is pork and kimchi. We just wrap kimchi around pork and eat it. It's very delicious and it goes with soju well. Soju is korean liquor. I really love it but I can't afford to go frequently. It's kinda expensive. So just when it's special, we eat it. Aside from the food, I don't care for the restaurant unless they are rude.
Q3. game
Sometimes I like to play a computer game, which called "Sudden Attack". It's a shooting game.
I've loved playing shooting game. It's not boring like others because it's unexpectable and irregular. So we are always nervous and concentrating on it. When we win, we can feel of achivement. Actually I don't like to play a game too much. I used to like to play a game all the time when I was in high-school. At that time, games are always in my mind. I couldn't help thinking of that. But As time went by, I realized that there is nothing left after games. So After that, I didn't play a game or sometimes I did. I might have been sick and tired of it. Anyway It's good to have interest to study not to play a game. Anyway I think If we can control ourselves, it would be helpful to play a game.
Q4. housework
Q5. Tell me about the TV shows or movies you like to watch. What do you like about them?
I like to watch talk show program which talk about famous entertainers' lives.
We have a fantasy of them and we think that they are just special and they are different from us. But as I listen their stories of the lives. I would find out that there are reasons how they became entertainers. They don't become an entertainer because they are just special. They become because they gave all of their effort for that for 5 years or 10 years or even over 10 years. Almost of them have lots of hardships we can't ever imagine. They endure much more things than us. So I can learn lots of things from them, such as, money doesn't grow on tree, no pain no gain, and sometimes I feel that how better atmosphere or condition I have than them. and we can feel humanity of them. The reason why I said about humanity is many people think they are perfect because they are famouse, rich and beautiful and they seems they can have and do what they want. So that's it.
Q7. What kinds of books and what authors do you like to read? What time of the day do you usually read?
I sympathize whit what he wrote on it. So I thought it's time to change myself. Nowadays I read a book named "The Secret". It's also one of famous self-development books. It talk to think in an optimistic way. What you think is going to be real. It's kinda similar to other books. But it's more inspiring and impressive to me. So I bought it in Australia. I usually read it when I have little time before I go to school and When I'm in my way to school in a subway or a bus.
Q9. Tell me about any exercise you do. Do you jog? Do you work out with weights? Or do you go for a walk form time to time? Also tell me how often you exercise and for how long.
Secondly, I play tennis with my friends. but I haven't been taught I just play it for fun.
When I watched a tennis game, it seems it's not very hard to play it. I thought it needs just a power and stamina. But After I played it, I noticed that it's not like that. Ball is too fast to hit it even thought it's absolutely slow When it's compared with the ball in pro sports game.
I just did it for about a week. because I didn't exercise for a long time to study. If I'm telling u what I worked out before, it's gonna be boxing. When I wan in high school, I did boxing for 8months. It's very tough on the other hand it's very interesting to learn skills and attractive.
I think it's the hardest sport I've ever done. But I enjoyed it so it made me healthy and confident. I think at that time I had my best my body in my lifetime in terms of condition and shape.

Q1. I would like to talk about where you live.
Describe your house to me. What does it look like?
Where is it located?
I live in an office or in an apartment where my family live. I'm having an internship program that's why I usually live in an office. It's located on 19th floor in a building in downtown. After I get off the elevator,
I can see the main entrance. I have to be checked by the machine for a fingerprint. After you enter, you can see the management's room and hallway. Over the management's room, you can see many cubicles which are over 100. Each cubicle has a computer, a monitor, a chair and so on. On the right side, there are rest rooms, an entertainment room, a kitchen, a shower room and seminar room. In an entertainment room, There are a table, chairs, TV and X-Box game machine. When you feel like doing a game, you can have fun out of it there. In an kitchen, there are a fridge, Big Wide LCD TV, kitchen utensils. We can cook and eat there or have a word with others. On the right side, There is a room for sleep. It can accommodate about 60 people. and there are humidifiers, air conditioner, comforters and pillows. The explanation of my house is on another question. You can reference it.
Q2. Tell me whay you like and don't like about your neighborhood( for place ). neighbor( for people )
First of all, near my house there are schools, a department store, restaurants, a market and so on.
So It's very convenient to live in my neighborhood. I don't need to go far away to buy and to eat something. and I don't need to take a but or a subway to go to school. And bus stops and a subway station is near my place. It takes me about only 5minutes. and secondly It's safe to live. There are lots of apartments and stores. It's light all the time and there are lots of people walking around. and in my apartment there is a security system at the entrance. To enter the apartment, you have to input the password. But only thing I don't like is it's kinda noisy. Of course it's natural cos there are many people to live here. Besides cars are as well. That's why when I should study hard, I study at the library as possible as I can.
Q3. Tell me what you do with your neighbors. How often do you see them?
What do you like to do with them and what do you usually talk about with them?
I used to see my neighbors once or twice a week. But now I don't see them anymore.
Actually I've lived there over 10 years. But All of the neighbors moved out to other places and
at the same time I was busy studying. That's why I don't who my neighbors are. Anyway when I was young, we were of similar ages. So I played with them doing sports or games, or came over others' place. we didn't talk about something frequently. We were young that's why we just played and talked about what we were going to do. It was very funny hanging out w/ them. Sometimes I miss it because I don't have enough time to meet or hang out with someone anymore. But I'm satisfied with who I meet and what I should do.
Q4. Think back to the day when you moved into the place you live in. When did you move? Did you have anybody who helped you? Tell me everything that happened on that moving day.
Fourteen years ago, we moved to the place where we live right now. When I saw the house for the first time before we had moved, I couldn't believe that this house is going to be our place. Because we used to rent a house, which is a small. That's way I hadn't had my room and we hadn't had something new. But when I saw that house, everything was new like a brand new car and worked well. and I had never been an apartment before. On the moving day, my relatives helped us unpacking and moving the stuffs. and one of my aunt bouught a desk, a bed for me. That's the first time I have my own room, desk, bed. and there are a dining table, a microwave, a kitchen, a shower room. That's way I was incredibly happy. So I played with my sister and my cousins and went up and down from the 1st floor to 15th floor. I can't believe how I did that. The best thing I really loved is there is a playground next to our place. That's very precious for children. The other thing I like was there is a elementary school in a 5 minutes walking distance. Nothing special happened but the moving day itself was very special for me.

Q1. Describe one of your professors to me. What kind of person is he or she? What do you like or dislike about him or her?
One of my favorite professors is Professor Bang, who teaches JAVA language and Mobile Programming.
He likes teaching, of course, that's why he shows us passion about what he teaches.
He illustrates the lectures well so that we are able to understand easily.
When we ask him, he gave us, of course, exact anwsers and additionally some other usuful informaion about it.
Even though he doesn't about it exactly, he seeks about that on the internet in order to teach us.
Q2. You indicated that you are a colleage student. Describe the courses you are taking this semester.
I'm taking 22 credits. 15 credits for my major and the rest of it is for english courses.
My major is all about programming such as Database, Computer Network, Algorism, Design Pattern, System Programming.
Some courses whice are bookish are kinda boring or very hard to understand.
The others are about making program, which are interesting and understandable.
Anyway all of them are important to me that's why I do my best even though it's not easy and interesting.
I take 2 english classes in order to keep or enhance my english skill.
Those are about discussion in english. That's not easy to do well. But relatively other students don't speak english
well that's why I don't have too much burden of it. Anyway I don't speak it well either. I'll just do my best.
Q3. Tell me how you get from your house to school everyday. Also, tell me how long it takes you to get to school on a normal weekday
I'm living in the office where I belong to. I belong to Samsung Software Membership. It's a sort of internship programs.
Anyway From there, first, I get on the elevator to 1st floor. Then I walk to the subway station, whick takes me about 10 minutes.
I take the subway in a short time, because it's run frequently. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the university.
After I get off the subway, I walk to the engineering colleage from the station. It takes me about 15 or 20 minutes.
So overall, I need approximately 50 minutes to get to the school everyday.
Q4. Describe your first visit to your school. When was it and what was your first impression about the school?
The first time I visited my school was when I went to the orientation for fresh men.
I found it beautiful especially the building because the style of buildings is harmonious.
As I went to the engineering colleage, I could get there easily because there are signs to guide where the buildings are.
And inside the classrooms, It's quite clean and chairs and desks are good as well.
I had good first impression.
Q5. You indicated in the survey that you are a colleage student. I would assume that you have classes you like and classes
you don't like. Compare one class you have liked a lot to a class you have not liked.
Describe what you liked about the one and what you did not like about the other.
Actually until 2 years ago I didn't like almost all of the courses in my major.
I thought those are just theories. It's not helpful to make a program.
So I just liked some courses which are about making a program. I thought those are only things which would be useful.
But As time went by, I realized that the theories are the basic to make huge and systematic programs.
If I don't know that, I will have hard time. That's why since then I don't have any course I don't like.
I try to do my best to every course.

[OPIC] 1. Self-Introduction
Q1. Tell me a little bit about yourself.
My name is Shin Chan Sub. I'm a college student and 26 years old.
I'm majoring in computer engineering as a senior.
I do love my major. That's why I do study hard even though it's very hard and stressful.
The reason why I like my major is it's all about create something and I can see the result and use it.
So I can be satisfied of what I've done. I'd like to talk about my character.
I'm kinda passionate, competitive. It's good for me. When I've got sth to do,
I keep thinking of that and doing it until I can see the completion.
That's why I heard frequently that I look responsible and confident.
On the other hand I'm clumsy, vulnerable emotionally and sometimes self-conscious.
When I announce sth in front of many people I'm able to talk fluently. But after finishing it,
I feel nervous and I can hear my rapid heartbeat. I don't know why it is like that.
My values is "Do your best at present". The reason why It's mine is because of the book named "Present".
It talks about the people who cling to past and future wasting their time worrying sth useless or not worthy.
I used to do it that's why It was very impressive to me.
Q2. Tell me a little bit about your family.
There are four people in my family - my father, mother, younger sister.
My father is a carpenter, my mother is a factory worker, and my sister is an accountant.
My parents are middle age and my sister is 22 years old.
My father is brief but warmhearted. He always does his best for his family.
I think I picked it up by watching my father. That's why I do my best as a son as well.
My mother is very hospitable. When I had a girl friend, my mother insisted that
I'm going to come home w/ my gf. So I took her to the house. then we were having fun.
After that she kept asking me about her and saying she can come over anytime as long as she wants. My sister is optimistic and shy. She keeps smiling all the time and active. but When she is with strangers, She is not. She doesn't say as much as she talks with her friends.
Q3. Tell me a little bit about where you live.
I've been living in DeaGu City for my entire life so far, which means I was born in Deagu.
I live with my family in an apartment. I have lived here for about 12 years. There are 3 rooms, a bath room, a kitchen and a dining room. but the kitchen and dining room are connected. My neighborhood is an apartment complex, which means many people live there. That's why near my house there are a big park, a subway station, a department store and schools and many stores. We don't need to go far away from the house. So I think my house is very good to live.
Up until 2 years ago, I've lived with my family members.
Q4. Tell me a little bit about what do you do in your free time.
When I've got free time, I watch American TV series such as "Desperate house wives, Sex and the City and so on". It's all about daily life. That's not only fun and interesting but also helpful for english studying. While I watch thoes movies, I jot down some words or expressions which I don't know.
I think It's gonna be easy to remember because I enjoy it and I can imagine the appropriate situations.
Before I had military service, I either used to play the guitar or basketball. The reason why I can't do this anymore is I'm a senior right now That's why I have lots of things to do for my future. If I'm given a chance to do sth else in short term, I want to join bowling or mountain climbing club. Because I used to do that in a club When I was in high school.
Q5. Tell me a little bit about your school.
I go to Kemyung University. It's located in Deagu CIty. It's not prestigious university of study but It's famous of scenery. All of the bulidings are beautiful and have the same style and there are lots of trees. About trees, there are lots of cherryblossom's trees on the roads. So When it's spring, those trees make my campus graceful. Many students take pictures out of it. The residents do as well. That's why some movies were filmed in the university. So I could have a chance to see famous actors and actresses. Lucky me. The students in my University must take chapel course because My University is a foundation of christian. We have a huge library, which is one of huge libraries in Korea. Actually I've got a dissatisfaction of location of the building which I belong to. It's very far from most of the other buildings. The building which I belong to is engineering building. That's why most of the students are men. So I don't have many chance to meet or see female students. I think most of the engineering students agree with me. Anyway I do love my school.
Q6. Tell me a little bit about your hobbies.
My hobbies are playing the guitar, watching American TV Series, reading books. I've played the guitar since I was 20. But I'm not good at that because I didn't have time for that. Nowadays It's getting competitive to get a job that's why I've spent plenty of time for that. So I just keep my guitar in my room. Watching American TV Series is great. It's very fun. I can see their culture and It's going to be helpful for my english skill. I can learn many useful expressions and words and I can memorize those things easily because I can remember that situations when I can use that. Reading books is great as well. I usually read self-development books because I need some inspirations to be optimistic. When I was pessimistic, I just wasted my time and power and I was able to give others a bad influence. I want to cherish my every single second. That's why I love to read those books. Nowadays I'm reading the book named "The Secret". It all talks about being affirmative. It says what I think is going to work, not what I want or don't want. It only depends on What I think. But It's not going to work right away. It takes, of course, short or long time. They said It depends on how much u believe. It's the best encourage so far. If I had a chance to have another hobby, I would like to choose taking a photo. Because Pictures are only things which help us remember what we've done, where we've been, who we've been with. and in accordance with the way we take a picture can give us different impression of that. We can exaggerate or make it look more wonderful or make it real the same as we see directly.
Q7. Tell me a little bit about your normal daily routine.
I usually get up at 6 or 7am. then I take a shower. If I have enough time to have breakfast.
I do but if not, I don't. After that I either take a bus or subway. It depends on where I stay.
I sometimes live at home because I usually live at the office because I have an intership program.
If I stay at the office, I take a subway. If I stay at home, I take a bus. Actually there are both of it near home and the office. From the office, the subway takes shorter time than the bus. From home, the bus takes shorter time. When I get the university, I go to the engineering colleage in order to have classes. I have lunch in cafeteria and on every monday and thuesday
I have dinner there because I have night classes at that days. Anyway after my classes are finished, I either go to the office or at home. After I get there, I put my bag down, put off the clothes and take a shower. then I study sth I need or I want. Before I sleep, I often watch American TV Series named "Desperate Housewives". It's all about the daily life of desperate housewives. It's very fun. That's why It helps me sleep well with happy thoughts.
Q8. Tell me a little bit about what you usually do on the weekend.
First of all, I get up late because on weekdays I should sleep late and get up early. because I have many stuffs to do. then I have breakfast or lunch and take a shower. After that I check my email and watch TV or Movie. If I have sth to do or homeworks, I do that. If not, I hang out with my friends or keep watching movies or just study what I need or I want. I usually study on weekends because it's the only time I can study what I want. Sometimes I help my mother carry some stuffs when she goes to the market and dish washes. I ocassionally clean the house.
